Comfrey (Symphytum officinale; Boraginaceae)
Comfrey is a powerful tonic
and the leaves are more astringent
and anti-inflammatory.
It is one of the best ways to promote tissue growth.
Please read up on this before attempting
anything but a compress. It is suggested by some that it not be taken
internally.
Do not use if edema or malabsorption, or obesity is high.
Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale; Compositae)
Dandelion is a detoxifying herb.
It can be used to detoxify yourself
from a meat eating diet
or from overeating the wrong kinds of food.
Used as a diuretic.
Dill (Anethum graveolens)
Dill grows in sunny-drained soil as an annual.
You can enjoy it in pickles, stews,
certain types of salads, such as tuna.
Enchinacea (Echinacea angustifolia; Compositae)
Enchinacea is perhaps the very best
detoxifying herb in western herbalism.
It is used as a natural antibiotic
and counters the effects of poisons
in our bodies.
It cleanses the blood. You can use Enchinacea
for a longer period of time,
say in respect to the herb
'golden seal'.
Make sure the plant is fresh or use a tincture.
It can also be used externally
for toxic bites or infectious sores.
Do not use if you are anemic or have vertigo.
